SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
What It Means: This refers to the process of improving your website so it ranks higher on search engines like Google.
In Simple Terms: SEO is what helps your business show up on the first page of Google when potential customers search for services or products like yours. Better SEO = more visibility.
PPC (Pay-Per-Click)
What It Means: PPC is an advertising model where you pay every time someone clicks on your ad.
In Simple Terms: Think of PPC as placing a billboard on a busy highway—you pay every time a potential customer takes notice and clicks to learn more.
Organic Traffic
What It Means: Visitors who come to your website without the help of paid ads, usually from search engines.
In Simple Terms: Organic traffic is like word-of-mouth referrals—people find you naturally, often through Google, without you having to pay for their visit.
Conversion Rate
What It Means: The percentage of website visitors who take a desired action, like signing up for a newsletter or making a purchase.
In Simple Terms: If 100 people visit your website and 10 of them buy something, your conversion rate is 10%. It’s all about how many people go from just looking to actually doing business with you.
Call to Action (CTA)
What It Means: A prompt that encourages visitors to take a specific action, like clicking a button, filling out a form, or contacting your team.
In Simple Terms: A CTA is what we use to nudge customers to take the next step—whether that’s “Call Now,” “Get a Quote,” or “Shop Now.”
Bounce Rate
What It Means: The percentage of visitors who leave your website after viewing only one page.
In Simple Terms: If people are “bouncing” off your website after just a glance, it might mean they’re not finding what they’re looking for, or your site isn’t engaging enough to keep them around.
Landing Page
What It Means: A webpage designed specifically for a marketing campaign, meant to capture leads or encourage a specific action.
In Simple Terms: Think of a landing page as the welcome mat for a specific marketing offer or ad—it’s the first thing people see when they respond to your ad or email.
Impressions
What It Means: The number of times your ad or content is displayed to users.
In Simple Terms: Impressions are the “eyeballs” on your content. The more impressions, the more people have seen your message—even if they didn’t interact with it yet.
CTR (Click-Through Rate)
What It Means: The percentage of people who see your ad or email and click on it.
In Simple Terms: If your ad is shown 100 times and 5 people click on it, your click-through rate (CTR) is 5%. It tells us how effective your ad is at getting people interested enough to click.
A/B Testing
What It Means: A method of comparing two versions of a webpage or ad to see which performs better.
In Simple Terms: A/B testing is like trying out two different headlines to see which one gets more attention—then sticking with the winner.
